2016-12-13 - Tuesday - Food and bisque

While I've recently been cutting back to lose weight, I sometimes still eat a large breakfast. Most days I skip lunch or have a small supper, so splurging once in a while at breakfast is not such a big deal. Today was migas with spinach and cheese, half an avocado, leftover baked beans, and an English muffin --a truly international breakfast. This was followed by a skipped lunch and a small supper. Currently down 15 pounds over two months with a ways more to go.

I unloaded the bisque kiln on Tuesday evening. It was full of mine, Judith's, Ju-Ian's, and student work. It's nice to share.

2016-05-31 - Tuesday - Breakfast and beer

Tuesday I made a big breakfast (at about 1:30 pm) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I do like breakfast no matter what time of day or night.

Tuesday afternoon I was shopping for beer and found this. I will have to try it at some point, but I was making better use of my money that day. I bought a 12-pack for the same amount.

2016-02-04 - Thursday - Eggs and Pots

One of my new favorite breakfasts is steel cut oats, soft-boiled eggs, and sriracha sauce. The steel cut oats are a bit nuttier than rolled oats and are almost like brown rice. I veered off of this recipe for rice, spinach, and soft-boiled eggs with sriracha sauce, which I also love.

Beth at Budget Bytes (budgetbytes.com) has some wonderful recipes that are all doable within a budget. I have totally adopted her method for soft-boiled eggs and her egg quesadilla recipe. Go check her site out, and tell her I sent you.

Bowl by me.

Thursday night I went to Clayworks and cleared more cobwebs out of my head before starting anything new. It really is therapeutic to have your hands in clay and making things.

Playing.

2014-03-28 - Friday - Breakfast

Friday I had one of my new favorite breakfasts.  Soft-boiled eggs, spinach, and rice.  Sometimes I add half an avocado on the side.  The runny yoke goes very well with the spinach and the rice.  The Matt Jones bowl just makes it all taste better.

2014-03-02 - Sunday - Breakfast

Lately I've been eating eggs for breakfast more often.  I cook them lots of different ways, but recently I have found some great egg recipes on budgetbytes.com.

One of them is a new way of cooking soft-boiled eggs, which I had this morning.  I had no idea soft-boiled eggs and spinach would be such a good combination.

This morning's breakfast.  Recipe here.

Another recipe I've been enjoying is egg quesadillas.

Check out the website.  If you like food you won't be disappointed.
