2018-02-07 - Wednesday - Empty Bowls process

Wednesday I got the first batch of Empty Bowls back from the kiln. I thought they came out pretty well. Now to get the rest of them done.

I also did some slip transfer work on another batch.

2017-03-02 - Thursday - Empty Bowls finished

The Empty Bowls came out of the kiln on Thursday and I was very happy with them.

2016-03-15 - Tuesday - New pots and other stuff

Tuesday I photographed the new pots from Monday's kiln opening. If you'd like to see the rest of them go here.

When I came out of the grocery store I noticed the car in front of me had a small TARDIS on the dashboard. If you are not a Doctor Who fan, you might not know that TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space. It's the vehicle that Doctor Who travels through time and space in.

I also voted on Tuesday. I cannot stress this strongly enough: VOTE. No matter how small the election, no matter if you don't feel strongly about any of the candidates. Make your voice heard. People died so you could have the right to do it. Don't let them and yourself down. Do your civic duty. Vote.

I took some photos of the pots we unloaded from the kiln on Monday. Except for the shivering, I was pleased with the results. Thanks Kim!

2015-04-06 - Monday - Photos of new work

2015-03-26 - Thursday - Christmas

Well, almost. We unloaded the gas kiln tonight at Clayworks and that's always like Christmas. It was a good firing and I grabbed some snapshots after we unloaded, but I'll get some more "real" photos taken soon. I like to document my work.

2014-11-13 - Thursday - MAJOR catch-up Part 1

Once again, the months have sped by without me posting here.  I'm going to try the quickest update yet.  Hold on and don't blink.

August 27 raku

On August 27 we had a community raku firing.  Good stuff.

Yard Art Day

On Labor Day (September 1) I put pots in the yard and threw some to celebrate Yard Art Day.

On September 2 I glazed lots of pots.

On September 11 I helped unload the kiln and got my pots back.

On September 16 we fired the salt/soda kiln.

During this time I made pots, took photos of sunsets, made more pots, installed a new dining room light, made still more pots, glazed some pots, and generally lived.

Carolina Clay Matters Fall 2014 Pottery Festival
(formerly known as the barn sale)

October 11 was the CCM pottery festival and much like the spring show, we got drenched at the end.

On October 15 I completed my first set of stacking bowls for my friend Stan to give as a wedding gift.  Stan and I attended high school together about a million years ago and we have reconnected on Facebook.  If you have a chance, check out Stan's website.  He's a very good photographer.

On October 18 I joined the 3H Market at Ballantyne Village.  It's a very nice group of people who do all kinds of crafts and food.
