February 1 - Ben Owen III reception

Ben Owen III arrived tonight for the workshop this weekend.  We had a nice reception tonight with a great turnout.  Ben's slideshow documented his family history and that of the Seagrove area.  It also detailed all the steps he goes through to mix his clay and how he makes some of his large pots.

After the reception a group of us joined him for a late supper of sushi.  It was a relaxing meal with good friends and the perfect end to a tumultuous day.

I am looking forward to the workshop this weekend as it promises to be a good one.

Good slideshow/talk.

After a good meal.

May 18 - Emily Reason reception

Preceding the Saturday workshop, there was a reception at Clayworks for artist Emily Reason on Friday evening.  Attendance was light, but lively.  Everyone got to meet Emily and have a snack and some libations.  After the reception a group of us went Akahana Asian Bistro and had a wonderful meal and lots of fun.

The reception.

Emily, Julie, and Dave.

Good food.

January 27 - Jason Burnett Reception

Friday evening was the reception for artist Jason Burnett who was leading a two day workshop on Saturday and Sunday on his screen printing and decal work.  We had a good turnout and he showed us a presentation of how he got to where he is in his art.  It's been a journey and his art is very interesting.

After the reception we (terra4m) loaded the kiln and then went to Lang Van for a late supper.
