2015-09-02 - Wednesday - Trimming and finishing

Wednesday I finished forming some pots. I trimmed and finished the bottoms on all of them and defined the faces on the tall face pots a bit more. The suggestions of faces are as far as I'm going with these. I've thought about doing it in the past and several people recently suggested it, so here goes.

Sunday - Latest work

Several friends have mentioned lately that I only post pictures of unfinished pieces, so here are some finished ones.  Most of these are from the last gas firing I was involved in at the old building.  We are currently on hiatus at Clayworks because we are moving to a new building.  You can read more about that here.

I can't wait to get back to making pots.  Clayworks starts up again on July 5th and I'll be waiting at the door when it opens.

Joe's raku pots

Joe graciously took these photos upon my request so I could show you what his finished bottles look like. Trust me, this is no slam on Joe's photography, but pictures just don't do these pieces justice. You really have to hold them in your hands and see how the light dances on them.
