2016-12-23 - Friday - Meredith's new ride

Meredith's 2002 Ford Escape was having more problems so she decided it was time for a change. She bought a 2013 Honda Accord (the bow was just a photo prop). She figures she will be able to make the payment more easily with all the money she will save on gas.

It's hard to believe that our youngest child will be graduating from college in the spring. Where does the time go?

She's already got a job lined up after graduation and we're very proud of her.

2014-07-02 - Wednesday - Proud papa

It's official:  both of our children made the dean's list!

Needless to say, I am one proud father.

My wife has a college degree which took her five schools and nine and a half years to complete at night while working full time.  I am very proud of her accomplishments.

I never went to college.  I tested for a scholarship to art school, but didn't get it.  They accepted my application, but I couldn't afford the tuition and the cost of commuting.

Our daughters will be the first in my immediate family to graduate from college so it's going to be very emotional when they take their walk across the stage.

The fact that they are both excelling at things that they love makes me want to leap for joy.  I am thrilled that they have both found interests that they are passionate about at such a young age.

I still don't know what I want to be (if) when I grow up.

Life is good.

Friday - College move in day

We moved Stephanie and her roommate, Megan into the dorm on Friday.  It was a wild time with lines of cars, football players carrying everyone's things into dorms, and challenging parking.  Once we got everything into the rooms and reconfigured the beds into bunks we went to lunch with Megan's parents.  Later, we came back and set up their computers while they were in a freshman meeting.

It was a hectic day with lots of activity and a long drive home.

I think Stephanie will soar there.
