2013-10-23 - Wednesday - Saint John the Baptist Cathedral

Before we left town on Wednesday morning we walked over the Saint John the Baptist Cathedral to have a look at the inside of this beautiful church.  We weren't disappointed.  It was magnificent.

After a quick look around it was back in the car and home again.

That night I had a class at Clayworks and worked on another face pot.  (bottom photo)

Just down the street:

2013-10-22 - Tuesday - Balcony shots

I stayed in and did some work on Tuesday.  I was hoping to get to the SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) museum, but I had too much to do.  I guess I'll save it for another time.

Our last night in Savannah was a bit misty --the weather, not us.  Although we enjoyed exploring the city, we weren't all choked up about it.  I would really like to go back again to see more of it and find out more about its fascinating history.

Here are some more balcony shots.

2013-10-20 - Sunday - Savannah

On Sunday we went to Savannah for Karen's planning retreat.  It's a beautiful city and we had a balcony room on the eighth floor.  I couldn't stop taking pictures of Saint John the Baptist church from the balcony.  It was so pretty in so many different types of light.  I took lots of photos from that balcony as it offered a different perspective than I'm used to.

Sunday night we took a walk down by the riverfront for supper and sightseeing and listened to a busking trumpet player.  He was very good, playing TV and movie theme songs as different people walked by.

Beautiful architecture.

Zoom.

Interesting composition.

The place on the corner.

The riverfront at night.

The treacherous stairs we took on the way back.

Earlier in the day.

Near sunset.
