2017-12-16 - Saturday - This and that and art

Saturday I ran some errands and visited some of my friends' sales.

First, I went to the Re-cyclery to drop off the kids old bikes. They want "dusty, not rusty" and our bikes fit the bill.

I was really impressed with the size of the operation and how much good they were doing there. If you have any old bikes you can drop them off there. If you would like to buy some good quality used bikes, I would recommend them.


Next, I went to Amy Sanders holiday sale and bought a bowl and this really cool ornament that Gus made with Princess Leia on it.

She's got attitude.

After that I went to NoDa to check out my friend Ralph Janelli's booth at the outdoor sale. While talking to Ralph I was taken with this mural by Osiris Rain.

2017-12-14 - Thursday - Gas kiln

Thursday we finished loading the gas kiln. It's always fun to load it, fire it, and unload it.

It's like Christmas.

2017-12-13 - Wednesday - Dustin Harbin Book

Wednesday I received the small books I ordered from local artist, Dustin Harbin. He sells them on his website along with prints of his wonderful work. Go check out his website and tell him I sent you.

2017-12-12 - Tuesday - Glazing

Tuesday night I was glazing for an upcoming  cone 10 kiln firing. Everyone is trying to get the last firings in at the end of the year to finish up work. As I've mentioned many times, it takes a long time for me to glaze. Tuesday was no exception.

2017-12-10 - Sunday - Kiln repair and showroom

Sunday I repaired the kiln lid and moved my pottery display over to the other side of the garage. I now have a 'showroom' in the garage. If you would like to do some shopping, please let me know and I will make plans to meet you there. I'm open for business.

2017-12-09 - Saturday - Holiday Sale

Saturday morning I put out signs on all the major roads leading to our house. We had good traffic and a lot of pots found new homes.

2017-12-08 - Friday - Show set up

Friday night we set up the garage for the Goneaway Pottery Holiday Sale. It's a lot of work to get the garage ready, but it really shines when everything is set up.

I took a break in the middle to have supper with Karen, then it was back to work.
