2014-07-28 - Monday - What? Pots?

Monday I put a rim on the vertically textured pot and threw two more.  The third one reminds me of a hornets nest and has a triangular rim.

2014-07-26 - Saturday - Jim Connell workshop

Saturday we had a Carolina Clay Matters Pottery Guild workshop taught by Jim Connell.  It was an entertaining and informative workshop.  I now understand how Jim gets those wonderful swirls in his pots.

We had a more intimate setup this time, setting up in a crescent shape, and I ran the video again.

2014-07-24 - Thursday - Pots and rims

Thursday I added a rim to the middle pot and threw the other two.  The bottle was thrown from the trimmings of the other pots.

2014-07-23 - Wednesday - Formal garlic

Wednesday I threw another garlic pot, this one with craggy crunch and a more formal rim.  I'm not sure about it, but I would like to explore the formal rim on some other garlic shapes.

Tuesday I made another garlic pot.  This one has a more substantial rim.

2014-07-19 - Saturday - Mostly garlic

Saturday I went to Clayworks for about four hours and had a very productive day.  I made three garlic pots, a vase, and and a sphere (with leftover clay).  I'm not sure how I'm going to finish these garlic pots yet, but I have a few ideas.  The last batch were made with white clay and this is orangestone which changes some things.

On Thursday I modified some of the pots I made earlier in the week.  I carved one and cleaned up the other.
