2016-12-13 - Tuesday - Food and bisque

While I've recently been cutting back to lose weight, I sometimes still eat a large breakfast. Most days I skip lunch or have a small supper, so splurging once in a while at breakfast is not such a big deal. Today was migas with spinach and cheese, half an avocado, leftover baked beans, and an English muffin --a truly international breakfast. This was followed by a skipped lunch and a small supper. Currently down 15 pounds over two months with a ways more to go.

I unloaded the bisque kiln on Tuesday evening. It was full of mine, Judith's, Ju-Ian's, and student work. It's nice to share.

2016-12-10 - Saturday - Holiday Sale

Saturday was the Goneaway Pottery Holiday Sale. Becky, Ju-Ian, Judith, and Elaine joined me for a chilly day in the garage. When we started, it was 24 F and only went up to 44 F for the high. We ran the propane heater, but it couldn't warm up the whole garage, so we spent some time gathered around the heater.

We had a steady stream of customers all day and good fellowship, snacks, and music.

My setup.

The ever-popular snack table.

My friend Edson took this photo of me.

While we were having the sale, Stephanie was doing the Girls on the Run 5k with kids from her school. She's a coach for the program this year and we're very proud of her. Karen went with her and snapped this photo.

Friday 2009-04-03 Clayworks Spring Sale

Friday was the Clayworks Spring Sale. There were beautiful pieces of art everywhere you looked. It really was a surreal experience being surrounded by all that work from all those talented people all in one place.

There was music, food, and folks shopping.

Some old friends stopped in to see us and spend some time. I got to demo with Ju-Ian. I was throwing and she was altering and hand building. It was a lot of fun and I hope we can do it again soon.

LuAnn came by to see Elaine
and it was nice to see her again after such long time.

No pictures, please.
(Look at that thenar eminence
not to mention the hypothenar.
She could throw some great plates.)

Saturday - Muddy Fun!

Saturday was another session of Muddy Fun at Clayworks. We had a great turnout for the morning class and everyone enjoyed themselves. I think some folks were holding out on us as they seemed to really know what they were doing on a pottery wheel.

Angela and I assisted Julie and were joined by Rae and Harold. Special thanks to Judith for taking pictures while we were working.

The class getting started.

Julie is a great "hands-on" teacher.

Students working diligently.

See? Everyone is having fun.

The pots are growing.

Hey! Who's that old guy?
