2010-02-28 Sunday

Sunday saw a crew of regulars at Clayworks.  Everyone was being very productive and having a lot of fun in the making of things.  I finished up my glazing from Saturday since the gas kiln was going to be loaded on Wednesday night.

 When I got home I grabbed a photo of this planter on the deck.

This is a testament to how cold this winter has been

since it's lived on the deck for more than five years

with no problem at all.

2010-02-27 Saturday - Muddy Fun

Saturday was Muddy Fun day!  We had one teacher (Maggie), three volunteers (Chuck, Pete, and yours truly), and seven excellent students.  They made a whole bunch of pots and they were very good for their first time.

 

  

  

  

  

  

  

2010-02-26 Friday - Empty Bowls 2010

I finally attended the Empty Bowls luncheon this year (thanks Becky!).  I met Becky, Elaine, and Susan there for a fine time of charity, fellowship, lunch, and art.  We saw several other people there from Clayworks, some of them working in the lobby doing demos.  There were great conversations, door prize drawings, a silent auction and lots of hope.

2010-02-24 Wednesday

I was at Clayworks on Wednesday and once again forgot to take pictures of what I was making.  I did, however, get a great shot of Ju-Ian's tile from the Posey Bacopoulos workshop.  I think it came out great and there were lots of other good ones.  Unfortunately I didn't get any shots of the rest of them (too busy talking about them).

2010-02-21 Sunday - Barn Part II

Here is a video I just uploaded of Meredith feeding horses.  I love the sound they make when they know the hay is coming.  It's almost like they're purring.

2010-02-21 Sunday - Barn

I took the girls to the barn for their working student time on Sunday.  It was so nice to to be outside in the mid-morning sunshine that I just let the camera loose and snapped pictures of everything I saw.  Because of the cold, wet winter it was like crawling out from under a rock.  I spent a good amount of time just closing my eyes and turning my face towards the sun.  It felt good.
