2011-01-15 Saturday - Vietnam Grille, terra4m, Clayworks

Saturday three out of four terra4mers had a meeting at the Vietnam Grille.  I had my usual grilled pork w/rice vermicelli and pork spring rolls (someday I will have to try something else!).  Kim, Elaine, and I enjoyed a hearty lunch and planned terra4m sale dates for this year.  Alas, poor Becky was under the weather but I hope she mends soon.  Our friend Paul stopped by to join us near the end of our meal and we all had a nice time.

The food was great and there were many distractions so we got off to a slow start, but it always takes a bit to get geared up again after the holiday break.  We have some tentative dates and some plans for new ventures in 2011 along with a more substantial digital presence.  Stay tuned for that.

We had a long lunch, then it was off to Clayworks for some making.  After throwing several pots and decorating a few others I was in such a hurry to get home and make supper that I forgot to take pictures of them.  It looks like 2011 is starting out the same way 2010 ended.

[sigh]

I'll have to work on that.

Delicious.

Kim thinks so too.

2010-07-30 Friday - McCormick & Schmick's

On Friday evening a bunch of us met at McCormick and Schmick's for happy hour to see Jamie Hoover and Steve Stoeckel play their acoustic set.  Jamie and Steve never disappoint and the restaurant's happy hour menu is very good.  We had quite a good turnout of friends and we all had a good time.

At one point, Paul asked to borrow my camera and he had some fun with it as you can tell from this sampling of his photos.

A nice sunset.
(Good shots, Paul!)

I didn't partake much in the food at the restaurant since I had to go home and cook for the family.  I went home and made a chicken dish with red peppers, onions, and mushrooms.  It was pretty good and I will try to remember to make it again in the future.

2010-05-22 Saturday - Art in the Garden

Oops!  Fell way behind again...

Saturday was our Art in the Garden sale at Young's Garden Center.  There were lots of people there, but only to buy plants.  Our sales were scarce, but it was a nice day to spend among friends.  After leaving the garden center we met at Tony's Pizza and had some eats.

Good friends, good food...  I think "Ahhh..." covers it.

2010-04-09 Friday - Clayworks Spring Sale

Friday was the annual Spring Sale at Clayworks.  It's a venue for studio artists and teachers to sell their wares and have a bit of socializing at the same time.  I always love to see how well everyone cleans up since most of the time we see everyone in their clay clothes.  I still wear my clay clothes at the sale since I am generally there to demo.  I love demoing at the sales since it's a chance to have some fun on the wheel and talk to everyone while I'm doing it.  Imagine that.  (It has a lot to do with that extrovert thing.)

During the height of the sale it got pretty crowded up front by the pottery but I was in the back doing the demos, so my pictures are all after the crowds had dissipated and I had taken a break.

After the sale I went over to Twenty Two to meet Elaine, Paul, Scott, Will, and Barbara.  It was very nice time and I had my first Ellie's Brown Ale on tap and that was quite nice too.  I would like to go back there soon.

2009-12-17 Thursday - Raku at Clayworks

We had a raku firing at Clayworks tonight and while it was a bit chilly, it went well and everyone had a good time.  Amy brought lots of snacks, we had wine, and lots of laughs.

We didn't have too many pieces to fire tonight, but the first firing took a long time since we were having so much fun socializing.  Julie and Greg were loading the gas kiln.  They work so well as a team there was nothing for any of us to do but stay out of their way.
