2018-04-20 - Friday - Cheez Waffles

I stopped by Harris Teeter on Friday and found an oddly bent cart in the line-up. It had a graceful curve pushed into it and it fascinated me for about 60 seconds. Life pushes you past things like that, but I thought I would grab some photos to try to capture it. The curve just changed the everyday into something different and I wanted to absorb it.

Who remembers Cheez Waffles? I'm pleased to tell you they are just as good/bad as you remember them.

Later, we went to Taipei South for supper.

I think everyone is more influential than they think they are. I have had several people repeat back to me some offhand comment I said to them in the past that they took to heart. It's amazing to me that people actually take me seriously outside of my day job, and listen to what I say.

Speak carefully and thoughtfully.

2015-03-25 - Wednesday - Binkley, mostly

Wednesday I cut the grass and marveled at the lushness of our lawn in the spring. By July the fescue goes dormant and gets dry and stringy, but right now you could take a nap in it.

Binkley doesn't really like to have his picture taken so I had to work at getting one with his head up. He's been a part of our family for almost fourteen years now (June 20) and at seventy-five pounds, he's messing up the averages. His body is slowing down, but in many ways he still thinks he's a puppy. Like when he jumps around the den and shakes his toys, even though it sometimes throws him off balance. Since he's slowing down I've been trying to spend some extra time with him on a daily basis. It's easy because he's good company. I hope he feels the same way.

This almost makes me wish I could graze.

Mr. Binkley --the Binkster.

I was talking on my phone in the Harris Teeter parking lot
and I saw this tree all lit up. Pretty striking.

April 3 - Friday - Kiln and deodorant

I stopped by Clayworks on Friday while running some errands and peeked into the kiln.  It looks like it was a pretty good firing.  I was right chuffed with the results I saw.  We will be unloading it on Saturday morning.

Can't wait.

I went to Harris Teeter on the way home to pick up groceries and some deodorant.  It took me a moment to find the type of Old Spice I use and I realized it was because there were way too many options on the shelf.  This is absolutely crazy.  I couldn't even get the bottom row into the picture.

It seems like all the products that we've had for years are now available in every possible variation.  Have you looked at Oreos, Triscuit Crackers, or even toothpaste lately?  I recently counted 41(!) different tubes of Colgate toothpaste on the shelf.  Some of the variations were just different sized packages, but there were many different flavors and purposes as well.  It's insane.
