Tuesday I started experimenting with some new forms. I don't know where these are going, but I'm enjoying making them right now since they are a bit of challenge because they're new.

2015-01-29 - Thursday - Bowling for Dollars

Did somebody say bowls?

Thursday night I made 10 bowls for the Cleveland County Arts Council fundraiser. Their Bowling for Dollars event funds their Arts in Education program.

I use the term "Thursday night" loosely since I ended up staying until 1:30 am Friday morning. I was drying them in front of a box fan so I could trim them during the same session.

I love a challenge.

October 19 - Saturday - Another two-piecer

Saturday I worked on another two-piece pot and a pot that I hope will be a cookie jar with a face.  I'm really enjoying these faces as well as being extremely frustrated at times.

I guess that's what drives us on, the challenge and the frustration of something.  I know what I want to make but I have to train my hands to create what my eyes want to see.

I have never done any sculpting before now and it's quite a change from my throwing.  As usual, I don't know where I'll end up, but I'm enjoying the journey.
